Captain’s log, stardate 30498.9. Our destination is planet Aegron IV, a member state of the Federation. We have been asked to look into a stalled Romulan ship near this planet. While the ship is technically stalled in the Neutral Zone, no other vessel is near enough to investigate. The last transmission from the Romulan vessel was broken; however, our best translators are working on getting the entire message through to us. From the few words of the transmission that we have been able to understand, one thing is abundantly clear: the Romulan ship is not only suffering from mechanical difficulties, but is also a hotbed for Zeebolan, among the most deadly and unstudied diseases in the galaxy, and one that is transmittable between humans, Romulans, and Vulcans.
